Lighted Night Ski

It is time again for the Annual Lighted Night Ski with the Butler County Conservation Board, and this year we celebrate 20 years!! The night ski will take place on Saturday, February 4 from 6 to 9 PM.
Participants will meet at the Allan and Fayette Meyer Nature center to pick up their skis, boots and poles. Then they can head out along the snow-covered, candle-lit trails. You are encouraged to dress for the weather, and bring a headlamp if you have one.
After skiing, you can enjoy the warmth of a fire in the lodge, treats and hobo stew.
A limited number of skis are available for participants to borrow. You can reserve your ski boots in advance by registering on mycountyparks.com or calling 319-278-4237. Make sure to tell us your shoe size (youth, men or women). If you have your own ski gear, bring it out and take a trip around the wooded trails. If you would rather snowshoe than ski, bring your snowshoes out, but we will ask you to use different trails to keep the ski trails in good shape.
Bring the entire family out for an evening of fun and maybe to try something new. This is a free event, and we only ask that you bring a canned good to be added to the hobo stew. Free will donations are accepted to go back to the nature center and education program.
In the absence of snow, hikes along the candle-lit trails will take place.
