Kuehn Upper Camping Area-near the start of Jerry Kuehn River Road (service road)

Access: Campers must walk the service road from the Education Center.
Capacity: 4 sites available, 1 tent per site allowed
Cost: $8 per tent per night
Reservations: First-come/first-serve campers pay at the yellow self-registration tube at the Education Center parking lot.
To reserve this site, call 515-465-3577 at least 14 days in advance.

*Parking, restrooms, and water pump are available at the Education Center.
*No showers available

Kuehn Lower Camping Area-lower prairie along the South Raccoon River
Access: Campers must walk the service road from the Education Center lot.
Capacity: 1 site available, 1 tent per site allowed
Cost: $8 per tent per night
Reservations: This site is first-come/first-serve only. Campers pay at the yellow self-registration tube at Education Center parking lot.

*Site is ½-3/4 mile walk from the Education Center.
*Parking, restrooms, and water pump are available at the Education Center.
*No showers available

*Please note that according to Dallas County code, it is unlawful to camp at any one park for a period longer than 14 days during any 30 consecutive day period.

*Please note that GPS may not lead you to the correct location, so use these directions instead.

From Interstate 80
• Take the Earlham exit (exit 104)
• Proceed north to I Avenue. Stay northbound for approximately 1 mile to the 4-way stop intersection.
• Turn west (left) onto Bear Creek Road. Proceed ½ mile.
• The road will turn north and become Houston Trail, which dead-ends at the park.

From the north, on county road F60 (Old Highway 6) between Adel and Redfield
• Turn south on H Avenue
• Proceed approximately 4 miles to Bear Creek Road.
• Turn east (left) and proceed ½ mile to the T intersection at Houston Trail.
• Turn north (left) and proceed approximately 2 miles to the park.

Hours

The Kuehn Conservation Area is open year round, weather conditions permitting.
The Area is open 30 minutes before sunrise to 10 p.m. daily.
