Adult Conservation Oriented Responsible Neighbors 

ACORN is an adult program for those interested in conservation and environmental education topics. There are no membership fees and no commitments. Feel free to attend the programs that suit your interests. Day trips, guest speakers, and craft-making are some of the activities planned for this group. For more information or to reserve your seat, contact the Henry County Conservation Department's Office at (319) 986-5067. All programs depart from or are held in the EE classroom of the Oakland Mills Nature Center.

August 23rd10:00 a.m.WindowsontheWild. Powerpoint, animal artifacts, and hands-on activities in the classroom. Free program. RSVPdeadline August 19th.



November 18th10:00 a.m.Turkeys. Video, turkey talk, and hands-on activities in the classroom. Free program. RSVPdeadline November 15th.

December 16th10:00 a.m.Ioway2 & 3. Showing of the film followed by annual holiday potluck in the classroom. Film length 105 minutes. We will have a break between the two segments. Free program.Deadline December 12thfor lunch count.

Final costs, itineraries, and deadlines are announced when the reminders are sent. You may also listen to Cari Nicely, Naturalist, on KILJ Radio on the first Thursday of the month for updates to all programs.
