Canoeing the Mississippi River from Lake Itasca to Dubuque

Brothers Mark and John Wagner of Dubuque began canoeing the Mississippi River headwaters for about a week each year beginning in 2016. Mark will present about their journey from Lake Itasca to Dubuque on Sunday, January 30 at 3:00 PM at the Hurstville Interpretive Center, Maquoketa. Mark Wagner is a retired naturalist and former Director of Education for the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque. The photographs and stories of their canoe adventure will give participants an experience of the river's long meandering journey before it reaches eastern Iowa. This program is free and open to the public.
