Take in the beauty of the annual Perseid Meteor Shower at on Saturday, August 11th at Hitchcock Nature Center.This spectacular display of lights and falling meteors is an event you don't want to miss. Meet at the park entrance at 8:30 p.m. & bring your lawn chairs, blankets, binoculars & telescopes to view natures fireworks. Picnic dinners are always a great idea and don't forget your bug spray!
There is no pre-registration needed for this event. For additional information on this program please call 712-545-3283.Participants must purchase a $3.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass or have a Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation membership to attend this program. Daily entrance passes may be purchased with exact change or check at the front gate and may be purchased the day of the event. Annual memberships start at $20.00 and may be purchased from staff at any of our parks, at the front gate, or at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center during regular business hours. Annual memberships may also be purchased online at www.pottawattamieconservationfoundation.com. There is no additional fee to attend this program, free will donations are encouraged and will support continued programming opportunities in Pottawattamie County.
We request that participants do not bring alcohol. Well behaved, leashed dogs are welcome. Pet owners must clean up after their animals and you may be asked to locate your group on the edge of crowd if we have a large number of participants. Disruptive pets may be asked to leave the event.Weather Permitting
