Join Naturalist & experienced Native Earth Skills practitioner Dustin Clayton at Hitchcock Nature Center on Saturday, June 8th at 9:00 a.m. for a program & outdoor exploration into the world of traditional herbalism & medicinal plants. Learn about common useful plants & explore their traditional medicinal properties & application including tips for safe usage. Demonstrations will include tincture making, drying herbs for teas & a look at syrup making with a focus on safe plant identification & help incorporating these plants into your life. 

This program is being presented as part of our adult education programming, participants must be 16 & over.

Cost is $10.00 per person which includes all program materials and park admission. Online pre-registration is required by Wednesday, June 5th as space is limited.

Participants should note this program will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center & will include pedestrian travel over difficult terrain. This program will be held outdoors, rain or shine. Water bottles, bug spray, & sunblock are all recommended, please dress for the weather & wear appropriate footwear. Students may also find it helpful to bring a notebook & pen, binoculars, & a camera for use during the program. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283, reservations will not be taken over the phone.
