2019 Speaker Series: Nesting Owls & Barn Owl Restoration

Join us for the final installment of the 2019 Speaker Series on Saturday, October 12th at Hitchcock Nature Center as we welcome Bruce Ehresman, recently retired avian ecologist for the Iowa Dept. or Natural Resources Wildlife Diversity Program who will be discussing owl conservation programs. Participants will get an up-close look at a live screech owl during this informative presentation. 

This program is being presented as part of our adult educational programming, participants must be age 14 & over.

The 2019 Speaker Series is a programming series designed for teens & adults to provide them with an opportunity to learn from and interact with various authorities in the fields of conservation & environmental science. Programs are free with paid park admission & will be held at Hitchcock Nature Center on the second Saturday of the month, May through October. Each program will begin at 4:00 p.m. & will last approximately 1 hour with a meet & greet with the speaker to follow. 

Space is limited & online pre-registration is required to attend these event.

Participants must purchase a $3.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass or have a Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation membership to attend this program. Daily entrance passes may be purchased with exact change or check at the front gate and may be purchased the day of the event. Annual memberships may be purchased for $20.00 from staff at any of our parks, at the Loess Hills Lodge at Hitchcock Nature Center during regular business hours or online at www.pottawattamieconservationfoundation.com. There is no additional fee to attend this program, free will donations are encouraged and will support continued programming opportunities in Pottawattamie County.

This event is not pet friendly, please leave your dogs at home. Service animals are always welcome. Weather Permitting.
