Full Moon Hike

Join us at Hitchcock Nature Center on Saturday, October 12th at 7:00 p.m. for a guided night hike as we explore Hitchcock Nature Center and the Loess Hills under the light of the full moon. Hit the trails with our naturalist & learn about the full moon, its mythology & its affect on the natural world.

All ages are welcome to attend this event. While the hike will not be strenuous it will involve walking on uneven terrain in the dark, please wear appropriate closed toe shoes, strollers are not permitted.

Pre-registration is required as space is limited in this event. This event is free with park admission or an annual membership. Space in this hike is very limited, please do not reserve a spot unless you are reasonably sure you will be able to attend. To cancel a reservation please call 712-545-3283 as soon as you are aware of your change in plans so we may release your spot to the next person in line. For questions not answered online please call 712-545-3283, registrations will not be taken over the phone. 

Attendees must purchase a $3.00 per vehicle daily entrance pass or have a membership to the Pottawattamie Conservation Foundation to attend this program. Daily entrance passes may be purchased with exact change or check at the front gate & may be purchased the day of the event. Annual memberships may be purchased in advance from staff at any of our parks, at the Loess Hills Lodge during regular business hours, or online at www.pottawattamieconservationfoundation.com. There is no additional fee to attend this program, free will donations are encouraged & will support continued programming opportunities in Pottawattamie County.  

Please dress for the weather as this event will take place outdoors. Meet at the Loess Hills Lodge. Weather permitting. While this event is adult friendly it is not pet friendly, please leave your canine friends at home. Service animals are always welcome.
