Maintenance Technician

  MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN   ADAMS COUNTY CONSERVATION BOARD   DESCRIPTION:        This is a permanent full-time position with full county benefits package.  Under the supervision of the County Conservation Board Director.  Job site located at the Lake Icaria Recreation Area, Corning, IA.  Varying responsibilities:  perform routine maintenance of park areas, facilities, vehicles and equipment, and construct, remove, and repair facilities as needed.  Works with maintenance staff to perform such duties as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, masonry, mechanical, grounds upkeep, and custodial of restrooms, cabins and cottages.  Operate tractors, mowers, light equipment and power tools.  Weekends and on-call rotation for maintenance/campgrounds throughout the season.   Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.  Supervise seasonal employees and volunteers as needed.  Permanent employment is conditional upon successful completion of six month probationary period.    QUALIFICATIONS: Two year degree in parks/outdoor field/or maintenance; or equivalent experience.  Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.  Valid driver’s license.
