Description
There are 2 Summer Rec positions available.
Position based out
of the Louisa County Complex, north of Wapello, IA.
This
position begins early June and ends mid August.
Approximately a 30-hour work week with hours from 8am-2pm most days.
Summer Rec is an
educational/recreational program where staff will go to a local city park each
day for a week, or two, and provide activities for that city’s youth. Most days the program will be 3 hours long
(9am-noon) and feature a theme, crafts, games and activities. Then it will be repeated in another city.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this
position, but other duties may be required and/or assigned as needed.

- Assist
with planning and promoting Summer Rec programs for local cities.
- Present
Summer Rec programs in the scheduled city parks.
- Assist
with other programs as requested.
- Assist
other board staff as needed.
Entry Level
Requirements: Prefer degree or
working toward a degree in education, environmental education, interpretation,
recreation or natural science.
Additional experience in public speaking, human resources and planning
helpful. Valid motor vehicle operators' license required and use of own vehicle.

Qualifications
Prefer a degree or working toward a degree in education, environmental education, interpretation, natural resources or recreation. Must possess a valid drivers license.
