Seasonal Conservation Aide

Assists with maintenance and development of county parks, wildlife areas and trails. Duties include general maintenance and upkeep on facilities and grounds, trails, roads, signs, picnic tables, etc, such as mowing, trimming, painting, pruning and general upkeep on equipment, facilities and grounds. Some weekend and holiday work may be required.

Applicants should have a genuine interest in conservation and natural resources, possess a valid Iowa drivers license and possess skills and abilities required for the position. Experience operating tractors, mowers, skid loaders and other power equipment preferred.

Ability to use equipment and tools and work in adverse weather conditions. Perform strenuous physical tasks including lifting and bending and able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. The ability to follow instructions and interact positively with the general public.

$10.00 per hour, DOQ and experience.  40 hours per week. Position begins in May and runs through August, starting and ending dates flexible.
