Park Attendant

PARK ATTENDANT:  This full-time/seasonal position includes free housing at Lake Pahoja Recreation Area and is under general supervision of Operations Supervisor.  Performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance tasks for assigned areas of the county.  Responsibilities and duties include, but not limited to, the following:  Operate and maintain equipment of the County Conservation Board, repairs of buildings and playground equipment. Weekend work and flexible hours will be required during the primary camping season.  Attendant will reside in park provided housing.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Minimum of 18 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent required, college level course work in the Natural Resources field is a plus.  An equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to operate manual tools and equipment; ability to perform manual labor and to work outside under all types of weather conditions; ability to establish and maintain good public relations; ability to follow oral and written instructions; a valid state of Iowa Driver's License required.

SHIFT:  Non-standard; weekend and holiday work required.  May 15- Sept 1, will work with school ending and starting dates.
