Description
Seeking seasonal summer naturalist intern under direct supervision of the naturalist and general supervision of the director.  The naturalist intern will assist the naturalists in the development and presentation of interpretive programs to school age children, visitors to the nature center, summer programming and other public groups as assigned specifically assist with kayak programming and be able to lift 50 pounds on a routine basis.  Help with general upkeep of the nature center and environmental education materials.  Non standard work week with some nights and weekend work required.  Position to start in May and go through August or into early September is possible.  Beginning and end dates may be flexible to accommodate school schedules. Preferred bachelor's degree or college student preparing for a career in environmental education or related field.  Candidates should have knowledge of basic conservation concepts, teaching skills and techniques, as well as, the ability to communicate with individuals and groups of all age. Familiarity with computers and audio/visual equipment preferred. Must have valid driver's license and background check.
