Summary Description
Performs difficult skilled administrative support work developing and implementing outreach efforts including managing websites, social media sites, and written communications. Manages the volunteer program, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Environmental Education Coordinator.

Salary Range for this position is $21.43/hr - $22.74/hr

Job Duties/Responsibilities
Responsibility for developing and implementing outreach and marketing activities, campaigns, and strategies to promote Story County Conservation.
Serves as spokesperson for the organization at various meetings, special and media events.
Writes and sends press releases and conducts media interviews.
Produces videos and photos for use on social media, websites, and other digital outlets or printed materials.
Plans content for and manages department’s social media platforms.
Designs and lays out electronic and printed media.
Plans and executes special events and programs.
Manages all content on department’s website including project updates and events calendar.
Oversees all aspects of volunteer program, including recruitment, onboarding, recognition, and reporting.
Presents updates on the volunteer program and outreach efforts.
Serves as backup for other administrative staff.

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in natural resource, communications or related field and moderate experience working in a related role, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements:
Applicable position, department, organization and professional training will be provided and must be completed upon hire and on an ongoing basis. Valid driver's license in the State of Iowa.

Physical & Environmental Characteristics
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, using hands to finger, handle or feel and repetitive motions, frequently requires reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
