Description
Job Summary
Under immediate supervision of the permanent staff and ICCB Director; performs tasks required in the maintenance of Ida County parks. This position does not exercise supervision for other staff. Hired on for 16-24 hours/week for an estimated 14 weeks. The pay rate is $15/hr. Starting date July 1st, 2024.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Must be capable of regular attendance at Moorehead Park, Ida Grove, Iowa, in order to perform assigned tasks.• Assists in the performance of general maintenance work such as mowing, cleaning facilities, removing trash/litter, maintaining trails, grounds keeping, cutting/stacking wood, and other park maintenance.• Performs janitorial duties in the shop, storage facilities, and office.• May work alternating weekends or split holiday weekends with other staff, if necessary.• Operates trucks, trailers, UTVs, or tractors when necessary to carry out maintenance and development activities and assists staff with larger projects.• Communicates with the general public to explain park policies and operations when needed; acts as a liaison to administration. • Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications
• 18 years of age or older.• Must possess and maintain a valid Iowa driver’s license.• High School Diploma or GED, desirable.• Previous work experience relating to essential duties and responsibilities, preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Requires good verbal skills with a professional demeanor.• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and maintain good public relations.• Some knowledge in the operation of manual tools and equipment. • Exhibits general responsibility for actions, equipment, and assigned tasks.

• Position requires frequent exposure to outdoor elements which may include heat, humidity, cold, rain, snow, live or dead animals, animal waste, odors, loud noises, filthy environments and insects.• Must be able to walk on uneven or heavily wooded ground for an extended period of time.• Position requires frequent use of hands or fingers to handle or feel; ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; ability to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance. • Lift up to 40lbs, occasionally.

Qualifications
