Scout Days (Brownie, Junior, Bear, Tiger, Wolf)

Looking to meet your badge requirements? Look no further! Hartman Reserve Nature Center will be hosting a Scouts Day! Created for those who are Brownies, Juniors, Bears, Tigers, or Wolfs.  

What's Covered?

1.  Build a bird feeder and learn about different types of feeders. Then, venture outside and use binoculars to check out some birds and how to ID them.
2. Take a hike! Use your senses to observe what's around you and what animals live in and Hartman. Learn how to prep for a hike and the principals of Leave No Trace.
3. Learn what goes into making your own first aid kit and how to treat minor injuries. Learn about some noxious plants on the trail and how to treat when you come into contact with them. 

The topics will be designed to meet or begin the following badges or requirements:

• Outdoor Adventurer
• Hiker
• Senses
• Trail Adventurer
• My Tiger Jungle
• Paws on the Path
• Fur, Feathers and Ferns
• 1st Aid
• Finding Your Way

Cost is $5/scout. Please contact your local scout office for badges associated with these requirements as we will not be providing physical badges. Parents are welcome to stay at no cost. Dress for the outdoors and please bring your own flash light if able.
*If an adult will not be attending with a child, you must fill out a waiver.

*Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If ​a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.​​​
