Owl Prowl

Prairie Creek Recreation Area, Jackson County

Friday, February 4, 2022

Winter is a great time to go and “prowl for owls.” Join Jackson County Conservation on Friday February 4th at Prairie Creek Recreation Area at 6 pm for an owl prowl. An owl prowl is when we go out into the woods at night and call for owls in hopes that they call back. Mid-winter is a good time to hear owls calling because some species are establishing territory for mating. Meet at the Prairie Creek pavilion 1215 East Summit Street at 6 pm. We will first talk about the owl species of Iowa and then hit the trails and try to get some owls to talk to us. Come dressed for the weather. Please register 48 in advanced. To register call the Hurstville Interpretive Center at (563) 652-3783 or email tony@jacksonccb.com
