Being in Nature (Session 3)
Christiansen Forest Preserve, Story County
Saturday, April 27, 2024
Leave your cell phones - and the busy-ness of the modern
world - at the trailhead and rekindle a sense of joy, wonder and curiosity by
creating a more direct and personal relationship with the natural world. In
each of the four Being in Nature sessions
we will explore different practices that serve to quiet the mind, develop inner
peace, strengthen our natural intuition and create a deeper sense of belonging
in this marvelous world we inhabit. Each 2-hour session is unique, so feel free
to come to one or all four. Your guide is a psychotherapist by trade,
teaches mindfulness, and practices primitive skills, hunting and foraging as
ways of cultivating respect, care and appreciation for the wonders this world
offers in abundance.
Bring a blanket
and/or camp chair to sit on, if preferred. Bring water and weather appropriate
clothing.
Accessibility: We will be walking over
uneven ground. If participant can’t walk very well, then we can modify our
location to accommodate.
