Overnight Memory Maker

June 12-13

9-9 AM

Instructor: Amy Warnke

Come learn what it takes to survive a night in the Iowa wilderness! At this camp we’ll learn the basics of obtaining food through foraging and fish trapping. Then we’ll pick out a good spot to camp and create shelters. As the daylight fades we’ll gather around a campfire for some dutch oven cooking and make some Daniel Boone style “Coonskin caps.” That’s not the end of our adventure though! After dark we’ll play some games and go on a hike where we’ll learn some animal calls. Once it gets late, we’ll settle in for the night and wake up to another home-cooked breakfast.

Participants are expected to bring their own sleeping bag or pillow/blanket and two changes of clothing.
