Wapsipinicon Trail




Phase 1, a half-mile paved pathway, was completed in 2019 and Phase 2 completed the second half mile of a 1 mile stretch of a 10 foot wide concrete trail reaching from the intersection of East 3rd Street and Shaw Road all the way to the Historic Hale Bridge.  From there trail users can cross the bridge over the Wapsipinicon River to enter Wapsipinicon State Park. 

Location

Located along Shaw Road (between E 2nd St and US Highway 151) near the Wapsipinicon State Park entrance by the Hale Bridge.

Features

The trail is a ten foot wide concrete trail with scenic views along the Shaw Road leading to the Wapsipinicon State Park.  Open fields and pasture with grazing cows and goats are often in view.  There is a parking lot at the Hale Bridge for entry into the park.  Wapsi Trail
