Elk Creek Wildlife Area

Elk Creek Wildlife Area is the site of an old rock quarry that has been out of service since the 1960's. This area was donated to the DCCB by the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation in 2009.  Elk Creek runs through the southern portion of this area. This area offers excellent hunting opportunites for deer, turkey and other small game animals.  There are some fishing oppertunities in the old rock quarry pond that sits in the middle of this property.

Elk Creek Wildlife Area is located appoximately 5 miles west of Interstate 35 on State Highway 2 and lies on the south side of the highway.
