Rippey Railroad Right-of-Way


The Rippey Railroad Right-of-Way is a three mile long, 100 foot wide, stretch of former railroad right-of-way that parallels Highway 144.  The R-O-W is nearly all grassland, with much of it very high quality native prairie.  This area provides pheasant hunting opportunity and prairie observation and study.

Location

This area runs for three miles south of Rippey parallel to Highway 144.  It continues another six miles through Boone and Dallas County and ends in Perry.

The area is  open all year and 24 hours a day.
