The Monteith Wildlife Area consists of 240 acres and is mainly used as a public hunting area with excellent habitat for upland game species, whitetail deer, and wild turkey.  The wildlife area is located 3.5 miles south and 1 mile east of Guthrie Center.

Operating Hours & Seasons

Basic GCCB Park Rules

  • Parks open at 6:00 a.m.
  • Parks close at 10:30 p.m.
  • Park in designated areas.
  • Fires, Wastes - use containers provided.
  • Keep pets on leash.
  • Do not pick any wildflowers.
  • All State and Federal Laws apply to county areas.
  • Speed limit is 15 m.p.h.
  • Hunting in designated areas only.
  • Keg Beer—Permit required.
