Boating Boating at Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area

There is a small 8 acre pond located at the Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area.  Making it a quiet spot to spend some time on a boat fishing.  The pond is no wake, there is also concrete boat ramp access to the pond.

Camping Camping at Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area

There are 10 campsites located at Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area.  All sites have water and electrical (50, 30 and 20 amp) services.  The sites along with roadway are gravel.  A modern comfort station is located central of the park along with a open air picnic shelter available for day use.

All camping is available first come first served, and is available May 15- September 15.

The Bruce Schomkaer Recreational Area contains an 8 acre lake with a concrete boat ramp, and dock making it ideal to paddle around for an afternoon.

Bruce Shomaker Recreation Area's pond has been stocked with many different native fish species.  Species of fish we stock depend on the body of water but could include: Bluegill, Catfish, Crappie, Largemouth bass, Perch, Smallmouth bass and Walleye.

The Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area offers hunting opportunities to those looking for upland game hunting.  The prairie in the back of the park offers great habitat for game.

With 60 acres to explore at the Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area there are many things to explore and do.  One can spend the afternoon enjoying a picnic lunch and watching the birds, go hiking, enjoy hunting for a local geocache and much more.

There is an open air picnic shelter available for day use at the park, including picnic tables.  No charge for use of facility and is available on a first come first served basis.  
Trails & Hiking Trails & Hiking at Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area

Go for a hike and wander around the Bruce Schomaker Area.  This area has a gravel road way with campground loop along with a mowed firebreak trail to hike along, or blaze your own path through the prairie and into the timber.

Winter Activities Winter Activities at Bruce Schomaker Recreation Area

There are 60 acres to explore during the winter months.  There is ice fishing of the pond, and open space to try out your snowshoes or cross country ski.  

Use caution during the winter months as roadways not cleared during winter months.
