Vande Weerd Pit
The Vande Weerd Pit is an 18 acre area that has a small pond, prairie and tree line, for hunting and fishing. There is an open air picnic shelter for use along with
a fire ring with grill grate, must supply own firewood. This area provides a quiet space to unwind in between a long drive along the road or for those looking for someplace easy to access. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy an afternoon of hiking, exploring and fishing the pond or the river. Make a day of it and explore the Floyd River Wildlife Complex A that is adjacent to the area providing more prairie to explore.
