This county-owned property has a long history of being managed by a local conservation & environmental education-oriented group known as the Little Sioux Wildlife Association.  The management of the property was transferred to the Cherokee County Conservation Board in 2023 and named the Licklider Shooting Complex.

This 50-acre property currently consists of a rifle/pistol range with 25, 50, and 100 yard shooting distances. It also holds the Ken Thomas Archery Area, with 60 yd stationary targets, a crossbow area, and a 3-D target trail! At the entrance is the trap area, with 4 trap fields and a support building. Hours where the houses are open to the public is TBD, but you can bring your own throwing machine when the trap houses are not being used!

Future improvements will come in the form of new shooting tables, new roof on the 100 yd shooting shelter, development & installation of a 50 yd shooting shelter, updated electrical in the buildings, and a (future rentable) three season day-use facility.

**Annual passes are $40/household (includes you, one other adult residing in the same household, and any children under the age of 18 that reside in the same household).
**Student permits are $10/student. These are perfect for kids who are on the trap shooting team, but do not have an annual permit! (An adult must be present while shooting; If the adult is not shooting with the student, they do not need a permit)
**Daily passes are $5/shooter per day.
