Morgan Creek Park Redevelopment - Phase 1

A Master Plan for the 352 acre Morgan Creek Park was completed in 2015. This plan provides opportunities to modernize park amenities in response to community input and the recent Highway 100 completion with an expected increase in residential growth. The new park development will occur on the south side and complement the current campground, arboretum, trails and natural areas.  Construction for Phase 1 will begin in 2020 and will include:

• Entrance road on E Ave

• Inclusive playground and parking areas

• Shelter

• Accessible restroom

• Picnic areas

• Walking paths

• Development of the “Highway 100” trail within the park boundaries connecting to the Cherokee Trail in Cedar Rapids.
