Spring Break: Whimsical Woodland

Event Summary

The woodland holds an enchanting secret - a whimsical world, right under our feet! 

Join us to learn the secrets of the tiniest (and most magical) creatures living in the woodland, including insects, frogs and toads, birds, and the flora they rely on. In addition, campers will craft various objects meant to connect the woodland whimsy to our world, including toad abodes for their gardens, insect-themed wall hangings, and more. This camp is perfect for the quirky and creative kids who have a natural curiosity and wonder of the world around them!

What to Bring: Comfortable outdoor clothing, sturdy shoes, water bottle, a lunch. 

Ages: 10-16

Cost: $40 dollars. This covers all program costs, and no walk ins will be accepted.

Program Policies: All registrations must be done online, and no walk-ins will be accepted. If you need assistance in registering for programs online, please call the nature center 319-277-2187, and we will help you. Prior to the program, registration materials and waiver must be completed for each participant and turned into the nature center. These materials can be emailed to gcallaway@blackhawkcounty.iowa.gov or sent to 657 Reserve Drive Cedar Falls, Iowa 50613.Children can be dropped off starting 10 minutes prior to the start of the program and must be picked up with 15 minutes after the end of the program. If a child needs to be dropped off/picked up earlier/later, please contact Megan at mhamm@blackhawkcounty.iowa.gov.

Refund Policy: Refunds will only be given in the case of a documented medical emergency or funeral for programs more than $10. If program cost is under $10, a program voucher will be offered for a future program. If a program is cancelled due to weather or other unforeseen reasons, then a similar program will be offered in its place.
