New Year's Woodland Walk - Jakway Forest

Event Summary

Kick off the first day of 2026 with a refreshing guided hike through Jakway Forest at 10 a.m.! Explore the largest county-managed upland forest in Buchanan County, filled with towering oaks, hickories, and walnuts. After the Jakway hike, participants can enjoy lunch in Winthrop or Quasqueton (or bring their own), then head over to Cedar Rock State Park for a second guided walk at 1 p.m. A perfect way to welcome the new year outdoors! Participants are encouraged to preregister for each walk separately online.
