Junior Naturalist Camp - Level 2

Event Summary

Junior Naturalist Level 2 is for campers aged 9+ who have already completed Junior Naturalist Level 1 Camp in a previous summer.

We will spend this week learning skills that are a step up from the level one of this camp. This will include canoeing and kayaking on the river, making our own bows and arrows, making a full meal by Dutch oven and much more while exploring the great outdoors. Upon completion of this camp, campers will receive a Junior Naturalist badge.

Space is limited, so register early.

The cost is $50 per child, and camp will take place at various county conservation parks. A camp letter will be sent to all participants in May with final details for campers.

Camp will run from 8:00 to 3:00 daily.

Any student aged 10 plus that has attended Junior Naturalist level 1 in the Butler County junior naturalist camp series are welcome to attend.

Campers will need to bring a lunch and refillable water bottle the first three days. Lunch will be provided on Thursday as well as daily snacks and all other camp materials for only $50 per child.

Registration is required online only, and space is limited so register early. Camp forms must be downloaded from the camp description page, filled out and returned via e-mail to awittrock@butlercounty.iowa.gov within two weeks of receiving your registration confirmation.

We will begin taking registrations March 2, 2026. If you are a paid member of "The Friends of Butler County Conservation," you will receive a code for $5 off registration.

You can register online only. And don't forget to fill out and return those forms.
