Event Summary

Dive into the fascinating world of Iowa’s ponds through hands-on exploration and play! Tiny Trekkers will investigate pond-themed sensory bins, splash through water play activities, and discover the amazing plants and animals that call ponds home. Participants will learn about frogs, turtles, fish, insects, and other aquatic creatures through age-appropriate activities designed to encourage curiosity and sensory learning. Through touching, observing, and exploring, children will gain a better understanding of pond habitats and the important role they play in nature. The program will conclude with a special visit from one of the Nature Center's animal ambassadors, giving children the opportunity to meet a live critter up close and learn about its unique adaptations.
