Pasque Flower Hike

Event Summary

Pasque Flower Hike

Motor Mill Historic Site

Friday, April 10, 5:00 PM
Registration Required

The Pasque flower is one of the earliest blooming wildflowers in Iowa, and a welcome sign that a new growing season is underway. While relatively common in remnant prairies, this beautiful little flower is rarely seen in Clayton County due to a loss of habitat, and the rugged terrain in which the remaining populations are found.

Come and join Clayton County Conservation for a guided hike in search of this iconic species at the Motor Mill Historic Site. We will meet in the campground at 5:00 PM before hiking approximately half a mile up a nearby ridge to view this delicate prairie species. Participants should come prepared for a fairly strenuous off-trail hike. Call the office to register.
