O.W.L.S Days of Yore Museum

Event Summary

     The next Older, Wiser, Livelier, Souls program will be on Thursday, September 15th.  This year’s theme is “Discover our Museums”, and for September, O.W.L.S. will travel to Independence to tour the Days of Yore Museum at the Independence Mental Health Institute Learn about the early days of mental health treatment at the Days of Yore museum. The Independence Mental Health Institute opened in 1873. as Iowa’s 2nd State Mental Hospital. This repository of items and equipment from another era showcases the fascinating history of State Hospital. The shuttle will leave Osborne Park at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 15th, reservations are required.
