Lost Mound Unit Tour

Event Summary

We are partnering with the Stewards of the Upper Mississippi River to take a tour through Lost Mound Unit, formerly known as the Savanna Army Depot, to view a variety of wildlife. This is a 2-hour bus tour through the largest remnant prairie in Illinois, where we may see some rare and endangered plants and animals like the Western meadowlark or the Loggerhead shrike. This tour will take you into areas not open to public access, so don’t hesitate to sign up as space is limited! Contact Hannah at 563-349-0956 to sign-up. You will be able to meet the group at the entrance to the depot or caravan over.
