The Glissman Conservation Area boasts a 7.5 acre pond on 60 acres to hike, fish, bird watch, picnic or mushroom hunt.
The Glissman Lodge sleeps up to 8 people when the 3 bedrooms and futon in the living room are utilized. The lodge features a fully equipped kitchen, 2 bathrooms (an ADA shower and a bathtub), and a deck with a beautiful panoramic view. Pillows, towels and linens are not furnished.  It is generally available from May through October, although April and November rentals are possible if weather conditions allow.

From Adel, go west on County Road F60, about three miles to the junction with Panther Creek Road. Turn south on Panther Creek Road and proceed to a “T” intersection. Turn left at this intersection to stay on Panther Creek Road. After the left turn, the road will go east for about ¼ mile and then it bends back to the right. Watch for the entrance to the area which will be on the west (right) side of the road, just before the road bends to the east.

The Glissman All Season Lodge will sleep up to 8 people when using the futon and features a fully equipped kitchen and a deck with beautiful panoramic view.  Pillows, towels and linens are not furnished.

Fees

$85/night weeknights - Sunday - Thursday 

$240/weekend - Friday & Saturday – 2 night minimum

$360.00/holiday weekend - Friday, Saturday, & Sunday - 3 night minimum during a holiday  

$600/week - must call the office for this rate. Cannot reserve online for a weekly rate.

5% Excise Tax (included in the price)

A deposit of $150.00 is required for this reservation. If it is determined by the Director of the Dallas County Conservation Board (DCCB) or the Director’s representative that the rules and regulations were not followed, the deposit may be forfeited.

CHECK IN/OUT: Check in time: 3:00 p.m. Check out: 11:00 am

All on-line reservations must be made a minimum of 3 days prior to arrival, ie you must reserve by Tuesday PM if your arrival is Friday.  Call the office for openings within the 3 day window.

Permits

RULES AND REGULATIONS:
• Minimum age to reserve the lodge is 21 years old.
• Keg beer is prohibited.
• Pets are prohibited inside the lodge. Pets must be leashed outside at all times.
• Smoking is prohibited inside the lodge.
• The gate must remain closed but for safety reasons, unlocked at all times during your stay.
• You are renting the lodge only. The park remains available for use by the general public.
Carry In–Carry Out Policy: Any trash/garbage brought in must be taken with you when you leave.
• Visitors must leave by 10:00 p.m.
• Drive slowly and carefully; obey all posted signs.
Please read posted Glissman Lodge Check List inside the facility and comply with each request.
• The DCCB reserves the right to enter the lodge for maintenance or security problems.
• The DCCB has the right to refuse rental privileges and rescind any and all rental permits for cause.
• All rules and regulations of the Dallas County Conservation Board and the State of Iowa apply.
