Event Summary
Skunk River Float Adventure Join Lee County Conservation and Des Moines County Conservation for a scenic paddle down the Skunk River! Participants will float approximately 9 river miles from Cottonwood Loop at Welter Recreation Area to Indian Path Park while enjoying river scenery and a relaxing summer morning on the water. Date: Saturday, June 20 (Rain Date: Saturday, June 27) Start Time: 9:00 AM (please arrive early for check-in and shuttle arrangements) Route: Cottonwood Loop at Welter Recreation Area → Indian Path Park This float is expected to take approximately 3–4 hours on the water, with additional time for check-in, shuttle transportation, and loading/unloading boats. Please plan for a half-day outdoor adventure. Registration is $15 per participant and helps cover shuttle transportation, equipment, staffing, and event coordination. Registration includes:
· Boat use (limited canoes and kayaks available)

· Life jacket (required)
·Shuttle transportation
Participants are welcome to bring their own canoe or kayak. Age Recommendation: This event is recommended for ages 12 and older due to the length of the float and time spent on the water. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Please bring:
• Water (plenty!)
• Sunscreen and/or hat
• Clothes and shoes that can get wet
• Snacks if desired
