The Comet Trail
Discover The Comet Trail in Conrad
Formed originally from a railroad bed, the roughly 8-mile Comet Trail hosts trailheads at Conrad, Beaman, and the Wolf Creek Recreation Area, where a 72-foot suspension bridge crosses the creek itself. The trail ends 1.5 miles towards the town of Gladbrook, and is a great place for hiking, running, bike riding, and cross-country skiing during the winter. While horses, motorized vehicles, and hunting are not allowed, there are still opportunities to enjoy nature by viewing the wildlife present. White-tailed deer, ring-necked pheasant, rabbits, and songbirds are all known to frequent this trail. Come enjoy a trip down part of the American Discovery Trail system!
