CABIN CLEANING TECHNICIAN - permanent part-time position

 Immediately seeking a qualified individual for cleaning cabins. Cleaning equipment, products and supplies are provided. Schedule varies based on cabin rentals.

 
JOB SUMMARY: Take the lead in cleaning and maintenance of cabins at Briggs Woods Park, and may assist at Little Wall Lake Park.

 
HOURS PER WEEK: Cabins are open year round. Number of hours depend on the amount of rentals, with an average of 10-15 per week during the summer. Hours will lessen during the fall and winter. These hours may include weekends and holidays.

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Thoroughly clean and perform inspections of rental cabins before and after each rental. Performs light maintenance duties as needed while cleaning. Set the door codes for each rental. Follows through with inspections and reports back to Park Officer and the Conservation Office. Identifies and corrects, where possible, potential or real hazards within the cabins which could lead to accidents or potential department liability.

 
QUALIFICATIONS: Possession and maintenance of a valid Iowa Drivers license. Minimum of High School graduate or GED equivalent. Ability to pass a county physical and drug screen.

PARK ASSISSTANT

DESCRIPTION: 
 The Hamilton County Conservation Department is accepting applications for seasonal Park Assistant now through August 15 or later, depending on applicant and education pursuits.  Under of the Park Officer, duties will include grounds and buildings maintenance, campground care and public relations, park management construction projects, trails and forestry practices, prairie management, lake management studies and equipment maintenance.  


LOCATION:
  Briggs Woods Park in Hamilton County.  

QUALIFICATIONS:   Must be 16 years old, minimum of high school enrollment with desired course work towards conservation, parks, or recreation field.  Knowledge and skills with hand tools, power tools and power equipment such as front deck mowers, weed trimmers and tractors.  Ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, balance, climb and able to lift up to 50 lbs. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and possess a valid driver’s license.  

SALARY:  $10.00 per hour.  40 hour non-scheduled work week with some possible weekend duties.  Other benefits may apply.
