Hamilton County Conservation is located in central Iowa and manages 16 individual parks, wildlife areas, and river accesses - collectively encompassing over 1,700 acres. In addition, several major creeks and the Boone River flow through the county providing numerous water recreation opportunities. Briggs Woods Park was the first county park in Iowa - with land donated to the people of Hamilton County in 1919....preceding the state park system by one year. Hamilton County Conservation also manages an 18-Hole Golf Course over looking the Boone River Valley. We have 6 Modern Cabins that are available to be rented Year-round, 3 located at Briggs Woods Park and 3 located at Little Wall Lake. We also have 4 One-room Cabins located at Briggs Woods available to rent from April 1st- October 31st weather dependent.
