Primitive Camping 2024 (Day Permit)
Hardin County Conservation Headquarters, Hardin County
Thursday, October 31, 2024
*
Even though the "event date" is 10/31/24, the permit is good for the
days paid for and reported on the registration form.
Primitive
camping is available at numerous parks in Hardin County including: Bigelow
Park, Cross' Ford River Access, David Bates Memorial Park, Eagle City Park,
Iowa Falls River Access, Lepley Park, and Reece Memorial Park.
Fees:
Daily
Permit: $10/unit per night - Daily permits are valid for the number of days paid for,
the first night is the night that registration and payment is received.
To pay for multiple
nights, report your number of nights in the box labeled "adults"
while registering online.
Example: If you plan to stay 3 nights, register for 3 "adults" to be charged $30 for your
permit. You are paying per night, not adult. The current website design does not allow us to change the label of this fee to reflect nights. If you plan to stay longer than 10 days at a park, we suggest that
you consider our annual permit for $100/unit per camping season. See information
under annual permits below.
*Upon checkout you
will be prompted to fill out information for each "adult."
Unfortunately, this is a setting we cannot bypass, we apologize in advance for
the inconvenience. There are plans to update the website to address this.
Meanwhile, you will be required to report a first and last name for each
"adult"/day you registered. You can either type in your name or
simply type a letter of the alphabet in the first/last name fields to complete
this section of checkout.
Seasonal Permit: $100/unit per camping season - You must visit the Seasonal Permit Registration page to
purchase and register.
*A seasonal permit will allow you to camp in any designated primitive camping area in Hardin County for that year's camping season (April-October).
A unit is considered an RV/camper or tent. You may have multiple persons staying in each unit, the permit is not a per-person fee.
Registration:
To
be considered a registered camper you must:
- Pay for your permit by selecting “Register
Online” located at the top right corner of this page. Your license plate number must be reported under the comments section at check-out to be considered a registered camper.
- Register within 30 minutes of arrival.
Once registered, campers will receive an email confirmation for their online payment which will serve as proof of registration.
