Homeschool Discovery Days - Seeds on the Move - Prairie Hike & Seed Balls

Event Summary

Explore the prairie and discover the amazing ways plants spread their seeds! During our guided hike, we'll look for prairie plants and learn how their seeds travel by wind, water, animals, and more. Along the way, participants will have the opportunity to collect native prairie seeds to use in their own seed balls or take home. After our hike, we'll get our hands dirty making native seed balls using clay, soil, and a variety of prairie seeds. Participants can take their seed balls home to plant. This hands-on program is designed for homeschool families of all ages. Come ready to explore, get a little messy, and discover the hidden world of prairie plants! Registration is required. Please sign up online at mycountparks.com. Only students need to register for this program. Please dress for the weather, as part of the program will take place outdoors.
