Monarch Tagging

Event Summary

Start indoors for a short presentation about the monarch butterfly’s life cycle and migration to central Mexico.

Then head out to the prairie to catch monarchs and participate in a citizen science project to place stickers on their wings. Naturalists will demonstrate the tagging process and then participants can help catch and tag monarchs. Nets will be provided.

Join us every Sunday in September at 2:00 PM at the Hurstville Interpretive Center, Maquoketa.
