OWLS Spring Ephemerals Hike

Event Summary

Maquoketa Caves are not just for bats! Spring ephemerals are early blooming flowers, that carry great ecological importance. They provide a food source for pollinators before peak blooming season. 

Naturalists from Dubuque, Jackson, and Jones County will be leading a hike through the woods to find these small but spectacular flowers. Participants should be ready to hike on rough terrain, and dress for the weather.

OWLS (Older Wiser Livelier Souls) events are 18+ and geared for adults. Registration is encouraged through Jackson County Conservation (563)652-3783.
