Fall Naturalist Hikes - Ciha Fen Preserve
OCT 16 2025 5:00 PM
Event Summary
Explore this gorgeous biological gem on a guided 1.5-mile hike. The plethora of old-growth oaks on the site should be changing color, and paired with the amber fall prairie and approaching sunset, it should be a beautiful evening.
The trail will be mostly flat and over a wide grassy surface for most of the route. Poison ivy is abundant at Ciha Fen. The trail will be mowed, but there may be short mowed poison ivy in places. On the plus side, it will likely be bright red changing for the fall, so should be really pretty!
Registration automatically closes one day in advance. If you are fully registered, you can expect to receive an email "receipt" from MyCountyParks after registration. You will also receive an email from the leading naturalist a couple days in advance of the program. If you do not receive these emails, you may not be registered; call 319-645-1011 for assistance in this case.
