Event Summary

Join Anna Burkhardt Thomas, Avian Ecologist with Iowa Department of Natural Resources, to learn five simple ways to support birds, and other wildlife, at home. Anna will discuss creating habitat, providing food and water resources, protecting birds from threats, and other key ways you can help Johnson County become an even more supportive place for birds. 

This speaker program is happen in conjunction with the Bird Friendly Iowa Dedication Ceremony & Community Celebration. Other activities are listed below. Feel free to attend just this session or the entire set of events. 

  • 10:00 – 10:30 am: Bird Friendly Iowa Dedication
  • 10:30 – 11:00 am: Refreshments & Self-guided Activities
  • 11:00 – 11:45 am: Raptor Meet & Greet w/Raptology
  • 12:00 - 12:45 pm: Five Ways to Support Birds at Home w/Anna Burkhardt Thomas, Avian Ecologist, IDNR

Self-guided bird-learning activities and bird blind viewing throughout the event.
