Raptor Meet & Greet

Event Summary

Meet live raptors, aka birds of prey, from Raptology during this meet & greet event. You will learn about raptor natural history, ways to support these birds, and also get a better understanding of threats to raptors in our environment. This is a drop-in event that does not require registration. 

This speaker program is happen in conjunction with the Bird Friendly Iowa Dedication Ceremony & Community Celebration. Other activities are listed below. Feel free to attend just this session or the entire set of events. 

• 10:00 – 10:30 am: Bird Friendly Iowa Dedication
• 10:30 – 11:00 am: Refreshments & Self-guided Activities
• 11:00 – 11:45 am: Raptor Meet & Greet w/Raptology
• 12:00 - 12:45 pm: Five Ways to Support Birds at Home w/Anna Burkhardt Thomas, Avian Ecologist, IDNR

Self-guided bird-learning activities and bird blind viewing throughout the event.
