Event Summary

A rare desert ecosystem in the middle of Iowa.  Big Sand Mound has the highest concentration of endangered species in the state with more than 400 types of plants and undisturbed prairies and woodlands.

7am Carpooling from Central Park & Hurtsville Center 

8-9am Optional self guided tour at Environmental Learning Center

9am Meet at the Environmental Learning Center 3300 Cedar Street Muscatine and then caravan to Big Mound

9:30am-1:30pm Tour Big Sand Mound Nature Preserve
