Event Summary
North Linn Fish and Game Club and LCCD will co-sponsor a Home Firearm Safety Course. This course will provide a non-shooting class that teaches students the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for safe handling and storage of firearms/ammunition in the home.
The course will be conducted in the classroom only. Students will learn the NRA's three rules for safe gun handling; primary causes of firearm accidents; firearm parts; how to unload certain action types; ammunition components; cleaning; care; safe storage of firearms in the home; and the benefits of becoming an active participant in the shooting sports. Students will receive the NRA Home Firearm Safety handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Basic Firearm Training Program brochure, and course completion certificate.
The cost for the materials is covered by NLFG and the only cost is a small fee to reserve a spot. We have 25 seats available. Registration deadline is Sept. 17. Cost is $5.00 per person. Youth 12 and up are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult. Bring a sack lunch with you.
