Event Summary

Traditional snowshoes have a unique look that many folks find appealing.  This fall you can weave a chair that carries that same look into a useful piece of furniture. We have access to kits that will allow you to build one of these unique pieces.  This chair revives a classic design with elegant lines and simple construction. The wood is white ash, you lace the seat and back using "snowshoe" patterns that give the chair both a unique look and extraordinary comfort.   

We use colorized lacing instructions combined with step by step PDF instructions that will help you lace the chair and get it ready for finishing. Add in an experienced snowshoe weaving instructor and we should have a good time going from point A to point B.  This course requires the dexterity of a high school or older weaver.  Cost is set at $325 per chair.  Additional weaving will take place at the same time on Oct. 13, 20 and 27. In addition, 4-5 sessions will be required to apply varnish at our shop to finish the chairs by early November.  Class size is limited.
