Event Summary
Join Chérie E. Haury-Artz, an Archaeological Technician Specialist at the Office of the State Archaeologist (OSA), as she introduces us to the fascinating plant uses of Native People of North America. Learn about objects in the OSA collections that illustrate the many non-food uses found for plants. Plants from trees to grasses were utilized for building and wood carving, weaving, and sewing, and creating colorful and beautiful objects. This reflects their deep knowledge of the environment and their ability to use every part of a plant to meet their needs.
